French Academic Painter, 1811-1847, French painter. He painted his first landscapes and family portraits at Thiers and in the Auvergne before moving to Paris in 1829. After working as the pupil of Camille Roqueplan he was engaged by Baron Karl von H?gel for an expedition to the Near East (1831-3), from which he brought back numerous studies. He visited Greece, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine, stayed in Egypt from October 1831 to May 1833 and returned by way of Rhodes and Corfu. Italian painter, Florentine school (b. ca. 1320, Firenze, d. 1391, Italian painter, Florentine school (b. ca. 1320, Firenze, d. 1391, was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance. He was born in Florence. In Lombardy he executed a fresco of the Last Judgement in the Abbey of Viboldone, Milan. He then moved to Padua where he completed frescos in the Church of the Eremitani, the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua and most notably, the Baptistery of the Duomo (1376).
Arnoldus Bloemers
born at Amsterdam in 1792, painted flowers, fruit, and animals. He was instructed by Antonie Piera, but principally imitated Van Huijsum. He died at the Hague in 1844. The Rotterdam Gallery has a flower-piece by him.
